Ancient Chinese Paintings Postage Stamps: "Syzygy of the Sun, Moon, and the Five Planets" by Xu Yang, Qing Dynasty (II)

Following the first set of six stamps depicting “Syzygy of the Sun, Moon, and the Five Planets,” a long scroll by Xu Yang of the Qing dynasty, a work held in the National Palace Museum, issued on November 11, 2020, Chunghwa Post has issued the second set of six stamps.
The six stamps of this second set depict the eastern section of the Inner City of Beijing, with its alleys and courtyards, shops and stalls, streets and crossroads, Dong’an Gate and Donghua Gate. The military and civil officials processing into the city to offer New Year greetings, the bustle as the ordinary people greet each other, the ceremonial caps of the officials, and all manner and means of transport are faithfully depicted. Along with the previous set of stamps, this set shows the prosperity and virtuous customs of Beijing.

A stamp collection with two styles has been released, paperback and hardback, which contains the first and second set of the postage stamps, designed with a 72-centimeter-long horizontal se-tenant strip of twelve. It is highly collectible and makes for a great gift, too.
