Calculation of interest
The maximum amount of passbook savings on which interest will be calculated is NT$1 million.
Interest on passbook savings is calculated by the day, on a basis of 365 days in a year. The interest settlement dates are June 20 and December 20 of each year; apart from civil service/teacher accounts, income tax is not deducted from interest income.
Combinative listing

In order to comply with the government's paperless policy, reduce the amount of time customers spend at a counter updating or replacing their passbooks, and boost the information system's data processing efficiency, when the number of un-updated transaction entries reaches 100, this Company will automatically combine them as one " combinative listing." Customers may consult the details of combinative transaction listing by visiting this Company's website (ipost.post.gov.tw), online ATM, or a branch.

Change of Authorized Seal
Please present your national ID card (a photocopy will be kept), new authorized seal (the impression should not be identical with the old seal impression), and account passbook to any post office when applying to change authorized seal; after the change, no withdrawals may be made until the next day. (if not a branch-unlimited account, the applicant must perform the change at the branch where the account was opened)
If the branch-unlimited account is not able to returns to the branch where the account was opened,the depositor can to any online post office near the home or work(school) to obtain this service. The receiving post office will mail the application to the branch where the account was opened to be checked and verified.(If not a branch-unlimited account,the applicant must perform the change at the branch where the account was opened)
A fee of NT$50 may be charged.
Reporting a lost passbook and replacement
To ensure the quickest possible response, lost passbooks may be reported by telephone to any post office or using the customer service center's voice hotline at 0800-700-365; please call the toll number (04) 23542030 when using a cell phone.

Change of password
Please present your national ID card, original authorized seal, and account passbook to any post office (if not a branch-unlimited account, the applicant must perform the change at the branch where the account was opened) to change his or her password.
If the branch-limited account is not able to returns to the branch where the account was opened,the depositor can re-open the account at a post office near the home or work(school),and have the old account transferred to the new account.
Proof of deposit
Proof of deposit is an important piece of information concerning an individual account. In order to maintain the security of account information, the account holder is asked to bring his or her national ID card, original authorized seal impression (an account holder performing the procedures in person may use his or her signature instead), and passbook to apply at any post office (if not a savings account at that branch, apply at the branch where the account was opened).
A fee of NT$20 shall be charged for each proof of deposit; starting from the second proof of deposit, a surcharge of NT$10 shall be charged for each copy. To facilitate transcription and issuance, please have the depositor's English name ready when requested an English proof of deposit.
Account closing
The principal may bring his or her national ID card to any post office to perform account closing (if a teacher account or Branch-limited account account closing may only be requested at the branch in which it was opened.). If the closing balance in the account is below or equal NT$60,000 account closing can be handled as an ordinary withdrawal. If the principal cannot perform account closing in person due to some reason, he or she may handle the closing procedures in accordance with this Company's entrusted application regulations.
If the branch-limited account is not able to returns to the branch where the account was opened,the depositor can re-open the account at a post office near the home or work(school),and have the old account transferred to the new account.
Foreign Nationals Apply for Change of new UI No.
Ministry of the interior National Immigration Agency Republic of China (Taiwan) (hereafter referred to as “NIA”) has changed the UI No. since January 2, 2021. The new UI No. format consisting of one English letter followed by nine digits.
How to Apply
1. Please bring your ARC with new UI No., passbook, and the Authorized seal to any post office to change your UI No. (if you only have Giro account, please go to the post office where the account was opened).
2. You can also download and complete the form named “Change UI NO. Application Form for Foreign Nationals」” from the Post's website, then send it to the post office where the account was opened for change your UI NO.
3. Under the Regulations Governing the Implementation of the Common Standard on Reporting and Due Diligence for Financial Institutions (CRS), please complete “CRS Self-Certification Form (Individual)”. Under the Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), if you hold U.S. citizenship or resident alien for tax purposes status or you were born in U.S., please complete Form W-9 (Request for Taxpayer Identification Number and Certification) and Personal Information Usage Agreement.
If your account is authorized for expense deduction (for example bill of credit card, salary, and tax deduction/refund account), please make sure the unit has updated the information in order to smoothly complete the payment deposit/deduction operations you have agreed with them.
If you are not available to change your UI Number, it does not affect the use of your account, ATM Card, iPost, or Web ATM, etc.
