Standardization is the most effectual way to promote economic expansion, to facilitate international trade, to improve product quality, and to raise the people's standard of living. In conjunction with the standardization movement, a set of postage stamps was released on October 14, 1977_International Standardization Day. The stamps take the Chinese mandatory labeling, a Chinese character (正) reading 〝cheng〞(indicating that the product in question has reached the standard established by the Government) with various kinds of commodities as the background.
