      Three denominations of Dr. Sun Yat-sen stamps(1st and 2ad Shanghai Dah Tung Prints) were surcharged as unit postage stamps for use in Hunan in the following manner:

(1)The characters〝國內平信郵資已付〞(domestic ordinary letter postage paid) were overprinted with No. 5 Regular-Writing characters in black in two vertical lines, between which another character〝湘〞(Hsiang), the abbreviated name of the Hunan province, was overprinted at the bottom.

(2)The characters〝國內掛號郵資已付 〞(domestic registration fee paid) were overprinted with No. 5 Sung characters in black in two horizontal lines, between which another character 〝湘〞(Hsiang) was overprinted on the right side.

(3)The characters〝國內快遞郵資已付〞(domestic registration express fee paid) were overprinted with No. 5 Sung charactes in red in two horizontal lines, between which another character〝湘〞(Hsiang) was overprinted on the right side.
