Taiwan’s railways are wonderfully beautiful and much loved by domestic and foreign travelers alike. Consequently, Chunghwa Post has released a set of five stamps on various trains and tourist attractions. The set has a se-tenant format, and each stamp bears a denomination of NT$28. Descriptions of the stamps follow:1.This stamp features the cruise-style “Mid-Summer Formosa Train” and the “Future—The Moving Beauty” tourism train. The background includes images of Queen’s Head in Yehliu Geopark, Yilan’s Turtle Island, and Taitung’s Sanxiantai. 2.On the topic of Taiwan’s high-speed rail, this stamp has a background featuring Kaohsiung 85 Building, Tainan Confucius Temple, Tainan’s Chikanlou, and Taichung Park, as well as The Red House and North Gate in Taipei.3.Featuring trains from the MRT systems of Taipei, Taoyuan Airport and Kaohsiung, the stamp’s background includes the National Palace Museum, TAIPEI 101, Taoyuan International Airport, Dragon and Tiger Pagodas in Kaohsiung’s Lotus Pond Scenic Area and Kaohsiung Music Center.4.This stamp features a Shay steam locomotive and a diesel locomotive used on the Alishan Forest Railway. The Zhushan and Beimen stations are visible in the background. 5.This stamp features narrow-gauge Sugar Railway trains. The background includes the Qiaotou Sugar Factory Club House, the Suantou Sugar Factory Station, and the Xihu Sugar Factory Station.
