To welcome in 2015, the year of the sheep, Chunghwa Post is once again issuing a set of two stamps and a souvenir sheet featuring the upcoming year’s animal sign. This set of stamps, sharing the same design concept of last year’s issue, uses gold and pastel colors to illustrate the animals’ energy and vigor. These auspicious sheep, looking happy and contented, are depicted either in a standing or sitting position against a backdrop of plum blossoms and pink. The designs follow:1) NT$3.5 stamp: The image of a sheep stepping gentle pace welcomes the spring and brings good tidings with pleasure.2) NT$13 stamp: The image of a sheep of leisure in sitting position implies “everything having gone as one had wished.”3) NT$12 souvenir sheet: Staring into each other’s eyes and carefree in play, this pair of sheep symbolizes “being well-clad and well-fed.”To add to collectability and philatelic interest, two press sheets will be also released on the same day. Each of these uncut sheets comprises two panes of 20 stamps, with denominations of NT$3.5 and NT$13 each. Printer’s markings will remain on the sheet margin. Also included are a poster tube for storing the press sheets and a certificate of authenticity. Launched in 2009, this series of philatelic items are produced in limited quantities and greatly worth collecting. This item is not applicable to any discount plan.
