　　A great master in China, Chien Mu is commemorated on a stamp issued by this Directorate on his 100th birthday-July 30, 1994. Born on July 30, 1895, Master Chien was very intelligent when young. Being very poor, his parents could not afford for him to study at junior high school, but he studied very hard at home. A self-made man, Master Chien taught at many universities, devoting his whole life to the imparting of the Chinese culture and tradition.
