The stamps were overprinted by the Peiping Printing Bureau of the Ministry of Finance, reading 〝限四川貼用〞(restricted for use in Szechwan) in small Regular-Writing characters in black appears in a horizontal line across the upper part of the stamps. Because there was no stable currency in Szechwan, in 1934, after the Szechwan Local Bank was opened, steps were taken to unify the currencies throughout the province. The silver dollar was stabilized at about $1.60 in Szechwan bank notes.
