Description
To meet operating requirements, this Post is issuing a set of five postage-due stamps (Issue of 2008). There is a rhombus in the center of each stamp, as well as related design elements that symbolize wealth and auspiciousness. These include two bats and two ancient coins, which suggest a double blessing; a lotus, which signifies high moral character; and a peach, which symbolizes longevity. These design elements surround the denomination of the stamp, which is in the elaborate form of Chinese numerals with a backdrop of geometric weaving patterns. The Arabic numeral of each stamp’s face value can be found at the bottom left corner. Four Chinese characters at the top indicate “the Republic of China” and another four characters on the bottom mean “Postage-due Stamp.” The stamps share the same design but have different colors and denominations. The five denominations are NT$1.00, NT$3.00, NT$5.00, NT$10.00 and NT$20.00.
