Description

To call for filial piety towards parents, to pay respect to all the hard-working fathers of the country, to affirm the ideal of loving fathers and Filial children, and to correct the general mood of society, the Directorate General of Posts is releasing a set of two Father's Day stamps on the theme of loving fathers and filial children. One of the stamps will have a denomination of NT$5.00 and the other will be valued at NT$25.00. The NT$5.00 stamp, on the theme of filial children, shows children giving presents to their father to show their love for him. The NT$25.00 stamp, on the theme of loving fathers, shows a father teaching his children to ride a bicycle. They will be released on August 8, 1999, Chinese Father's Day.

Memo

Although the date of issue is a Sunday, post offices of a grade 1 and higher will open for half a day, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 a.m. in order to serve stamp collectors. The seven philatelic centers, which are found in Taipei, Hsinchu, Taichung,Chiayi, Kaohsiung, Tainan and Hualien, will also temporarily open to sell these stamps.
