Situated in the subtropics, Taiwan is an ideal breeding ground for butterflies. Its warm climate and abundant rainfall foster a luxurious growth of insects and flowers. The butterflies featured on the stamps are Graphium sarpedon connectens Fruhstorfer, Papilio memnon heronus Fruhstorfer, Princeps demoleus libanius Fruhstorfer and Pachliopa aristolochiae interpositas Fruhstorfer.
