Lin Chueh-min (1887-1911), alias Yi-tung, was a native of Min Hsien, Fukien Province. He was a sincere man, filled with a long-cherished ambition to join in the revolutionary plans for the sake of our country. Three days before the Huanghuakang Revolution (March 29, 1911), he wrote letters of farewell, expressing his determination to fight unto death. He then joined the surprise attack on the Office of the Manchu Governor-General in Canton, was shot, subsequently captured, and soon honorably sacrificed his life for the revolutionary cause. His beautiful and soulstirring good-bye letter to his wife has long been loved and praised by people all over the country.
