To promote interest in flower-growing, a series of stamps featuring chrysanthemums was issued.
Dating back about 3000 years when first planted in China, the chrysanthemum is universally famous for its graceful elegance.Standing erect in the fall winds, the chrysanthemum demonstrates perseverance in overcoming adversity and distress. For this reason, Chinese place it with the orchid, the bamboo, and the plum as the 〝Four Gentlemen.〞
