Painted by Chiu Ying in color and ink on silk, this Ming dynasty (1368-1644) handscroll, entitled 〝Spring Morning in the Han Palace〞and selected from the National Palace Museum collection, depicts the life of women of the court, and the magnificence of the imperial court and the royal garden. The painter, Chiu Ying, is one of the four great artists of the Ming dynasty. He painted more story paintings than any other artist as he excelled in the painting of landscape, human figures, flowers, and birds, all of which are important ingredients for painting stories.

This handscroll was released in two installments, each consisting of a strip of five 1.00 stamps depicting one half of the scroll and two close-up singles, each showing an enlarged section of some significant scene of the strip.
