Description

Since the move of the central Government to Taiwan, it has made progress in many directions, especially in civil air transport. Many new air lines, both domestic and international, have been begun in recent years, contributing much to the noticeable expansion of the air mail business. Following is the set of air mail stamps designed by Mr. Chin Yu-chang:

1.00 The design is a 4-engine plane flying over Taipei City.

1.60 The design shows three jet-planes flying across the Chung-shan Bridge in Taipei.

5.00 The design is the Chih Kan Tower (a historical building in Tainan City) with two pigeons flying above.

The 1.60 denomination was issued on August 14, 1954, while the 1.00 and 5.00 denominations were issued on September 1, 1954.
