To mark the 20th anniversary of the Asian-Pacific Parliamentarians' Union , this Directorate released a commemorative stamp . For its main design, the stamp depicts the emblem of the Union.
The Asian-Pacific Parliamentarians' Union aims at promoting economic cooperation and exchange of culture and technology among the nations in Asia . Through the efforts made by member nations , the organization has made remarkable contributions towards democracy and stability of nations in the Asian-Pacific area , and unity and cooperation of the people in this part of the world. The 20th Assembly of the Union was held in Seoul, Korea, in September 1984.
