Description
A large-scale philatelic exhibition entitled 〝Republic of China 1972 Philatelic Exhibition〞( ROCPEX ’72) was held from October 24 to November 5, 1972 at the National Museum of History, Taipei, Taiwan. This was the first time that an international stamp exhibition has been held in the Republic of China. The purposes of such an exhibition were to promote the Philatelic activities and to enhance the movement of 〝Friendship through Stamps.〞
In order to mark the ROCPEX ’72, a souvenir sheet was released on October 24, 1972, the inauguration day of the Exhibition. The souvenir sheet is printed with 2.00 and 3.00 denominations of the 〝Dignity with Self-Reliance Definitive Postage Stamps〞 on a brown red background. On the right margin, the title of the Philatelic Exhibition in Chinese.〞四海同心郵票展覽會紀念.〝is printed vertically.
