Description

To celebrate the achievements of the Sino-African Technical Cooperation, a set of commemorative stamps was released on May 20, 1971, the 10th anniversary of the inauguration of the Sino-African Technical Cooperation Committee. Putting special emphasis on agriculture, the cooperation is so effective that crops in most African countries have increased enormously. The great success of the Sino-African cooperation programs is largely attributed to the keen interest of the governments and peoples of African countries. In carrying out projects of cooperation with African countries in the agricultural field, the Republic of China has undertaken two main steps. Farming demonstration missions and agricultural technical missions are sent to assist the co-operating countries in agricultural development. Seminars on agricultural techniques for African Technicians are conducted in Taipei. More than 30 African countries have sent participants to attend these seminars. Friendly relations between the Republic of China and African countries have thus been greatly strengthened.
