The Shihmen Reservoir is the multipurpose water resource development constructed by the government of the Republic of China. The main purposes of the reservoir are irrigation, power, flood control, and public water supply, with secondary benefits of sediment control and tourist attraction. To mark the completion of this significant project, a set of commemorative postage stamps was issued.
