Description

Under Madame Chiang Kai-shek's leadership, the Chinese Women's Anti-Aggression League (CWAAL) was founded on April 17, 1950.Its purpose is to mobilize Chinese women in a common struggle against communism. Its ultimate aim is to win freedom for the Chinese nation and to preserve human rights through the realization of Dr.Sun Yat-sen's Three People's Principles of national independence, political democracy and people's welfare. The principal activities of the CWAAL fall into three general headings: Organization and Training, Troop Cheering, and Information Service. Since in inauguration, branches have been set up throughout Free China and also in a number of localities abroad.

Through the wise and able leadership of Madame Chiang, the CWAAL has made important strides year after year. In commemoration of the CWAAL's contribution to the national cause during its first ten years, a set of 〝10th Anniversary of CWAAL Commemorative Stamps〞 was issued with the First Lady's portrait and the CWAAL's emblem as the central design.
