The International Labor Organization founded in 1919 has become one of the specialized agencies of the United Nations after World War II contributing much to the development of industry, the improvement of industrial techniques, and the improvement of the living standard of laborer's throughout the world. The 40th International Labor Congress was held at Geneva on June 15, 1959, and its 40th anniversary was celebrated simultaneously. In celebration of its contribution to the welfare of humanity during these forty years, this Postal Administration issued a set of 〝40th Anniversary of ILO〞 commemorative stamps.
