Description
It’s fashionable for modern people to communicate using emoticons and Internet shorthand via email on PCs or SMS (short message service) on mobile phones. Chunghwa Post is issuing a sheet of four stamps featuring four examples of Internet shorthand that are popular among the younger generation: “\(^▽^)/”, “::>_<::”, “^3^” and “*^_^*”. It is hoped that these fun and lively Internet Shorthand stamps will allow philatelists to communicate their affections to their loved ones in a timely manner.
The personalized stamps will be printed with the measurement of mini-pane (A5 size) with four stamps and four unvalued stamp tabs each sheet to facilitate collecting in addition to refine visual effects. To offer customers a wider variety of choices, the formats will be printed either with marginal inscriptions or without. There will be four types for each printing. A brief introduction to these designs is given as follows:
A. Design with marginal inscriptions: two designs each for both vertical and horizontal types.
1. Vertical type: Both stamps and stamp tabs will be printed in row in the bottom right corner.
One design will be printed with 4 se-tenant blank stamp tabs at the left side of 4 different stamps. The other design will be printed with a block of 4 blank stamp tabs in the center and one pair of stamps each on the top and at the bottom of the block.
2. Horizontal type: One design will be printed with a se-tenant strip of 4 blank stamp tabs above a strip of 4 different stamps in the bottom right corner of the sheet. The other design will be printed with a block of 4 blank stamp tabs in the center and one pair of stamps each on the top and at the bottom of the block on the right side of the sheet.
B. Design without marginal inscription:
In addition to reserve the arrangements of both the stamps and stamp tabs of the four designs with marginal inscriptions, the wordings of notes and compliments will be diminished and then moved to the bottom left corner. The space for inscriptions will be left blank for customers’ own design.
