The two surcharges were all made by the Central Engraving and Printing Works, Taipei in No.5 Regular-Writing characters. Their differences are as follows:
1st surcharge.The characters〝臺〞(Tai) and〝幣〞(money) are about 0.7 mm. apart. The first stroke of the character〝幣〞(money) is in a reclining position.
2nd surcharge.The distance between the characters〝臺〞(Tai) and〝幣〞(money) does not measure more than 0.3 mm. at most. The first stroke in the character〝幣〞 (money) is a dot in all stamps except the 20¢denomination.
