To mark the event of the TAIPEI 2015 - 30th Asian International Stamp Exhibition which will be held at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 3 from April 24 - 28, 2015, Chunghwa Post is issuing a commemorative postage label featuring Taiwan trout. On the lower left corner of each label is a serial roll number, with three English letters and four Arabic numerals. The total is 900 rolls with 1,000 labels each.
Taiwan trout is a rare fish species and protected as a national treasure in Taiwan. They inhabit in cold, clear and good quality waters. They are generally considered immigrated to Taiwan during the Ice Age. Due to water temperature and topography, they were landlocked in high mountains streams and have become a landlocked fish species since then. Only small populations can be sighted in some basins of Qijiawan Creek in the National Shepa National Park.
