Stamp design:Moths are insects belonging to the Order Lepidoptera, Class Insecta. Most of their larvae, which are otherwise known as caterpillars, feed on one or several kinds of plants. Plants provide a food source for many kinds of moth caterpillars, and these caterpillars, and adult moths also comprise a major food source for birds, reptiles and amphibians. They are an important link in the food chain of nature. To help the citizens of Taiwan gain a deeper understanding about moths, Chunghwa Post is issuing a set of four stamps on Taiwanese moths. The stamps employ Mr. Lin Chih cheng’s photographs, and were verified by Mr. Wang Hsiao-yueh of the Zoology Department of the National Museum of Taiwan.
