Along with the increase of national incomes our citizens are gradually devoted to outdoor activities recently. To comply with the government's promotion for building up both physical strength and healthy bodies through leisure activities, this Directorate General of Posts continues to issue a set of four stamps on the topic "Outdoor Activities Postage Stamps, Issue of 1"9". These stamps feature 1) Diving, 2) Rafting, 3) Surfing and 4) Windsurfing. They are denominated at NT$5.00, NT$6.00, NT$10.00 and NT$25.00 respectively.

The following is a brief introduction to the stamp designs:
1) Diving: There are two ways of diving: Skin Diving and Underwater Diving. Skin diving is an activity that enables swimmers to dive near the shore with simple equipment while underwater diving requires a special breathing apparatus (scuba) for moving. one who wishes to dive under deeper water shall have the ability of skin diving beforehand. Well-prepared equipment and well training give security and protection to diving activities.

2) Rafting: It is normally underway in a rapid and surged brook in the mountain valleys, which is both thrilling and exciting. Roaming between rolling hills' to enjoy the fantastic landscapes on the way of rafting is well beloved by the younger generation.
3) Surfing: Taiwan is surrounded with the sea, which is a good key to developing the surfing. Riding waves between the fearful storms above the roaring sea under the blue sky gives one an enjoyment for the sense of speed and excitement.
4) Windsurring: The main parts of its equipment are windsurf board and windsurf sail. There are two types of the boat: the large one and the small one. The Olympic Games adopted windsurfing as a formal competition in 1984. Since then, windsurfing has become fashionable all over the world.
