Stamp design:To brinq joy to children and allow adults to wistfully recall their own childhood, a new set of stamps with a stronq folk flavor is being issued based on nursery rhymes infused with kids’ humor. The Directorate hopes to thus steer the general mood of society along the right path as well as promote education and culture. The four stamps include "A Frog Has One Mouth", "A Little Mouse Climbs an Oil Lamp", "Fireflies" and "Egrets". Two will have face values of NT$5.00, and the others values of NT$ 12.00 and NT$ 19. 00.Nursery rhymes evoke warm memories of childhood By listening to the singing and rhyming of their elders together with playing games, children learn these lively and humorous rhymes amid a sweet and happy atmosphere, while at the same time cultivating a pure and honest character as well as a sincece and simple temperament.Decades later as adults, they then teach these nursery rhymes to their children and grandchildren, thus passing along for eternity this beautiful oral literature.
