To publicize achievements made in the field of science and technology and to make known the direction our future endeavors should take, this Directorate released eight stamps depicting such themes as energy, automation, information, materials, biotechnology, hepatitis control, electro-optics, and food technology. The designs were recommended by the Science & Technology Advisory Group, the Executive Yuan.
