To help conserve natural resource and raise the quality of life, this Directorate released a set of stamps featuring Kenting National Park. The designs were provided by Hilit Publishing Co., Ltd.. Kenting National Park is situated on the southern tip of Taiwan, and includes not only land terrain, but also the adjacent oceanic areas. It covers a land area of 17,731 hectares and a marine area of 14,900 hectares, amounting to 32,631 hectares. The Kenting area offers a varied topography including offshore marine terrain, hills, tableland, lakes, open meadows, and primitive rain forest. Among them, there are abundant species of plants and animals, in addition to the relics of forebears. As the first national park in Taiwan, Kenting National Park has the potential to function as a resource for academic study, social education and recreation.
