　　 The year 1983 was proclaimed as World Communications Year (WCY). To arouse the attention of our people to the contribution of communications toward world peace and social development, this Directorate released a set of two stamps. The 18.00 stamp takes the emblem of WCY as the main design, with an outline of the plum blossom, our national flower, in the background. The 2.00 stamp depicts important communications infrastructures around a globe.
