Poetry and the Tang dynasty are synonymous. It was during the 300 years (618-906) of the Tang Dynasty that poetry flourished and reached perfection. On June 25, 1982, Poet's Day, a set of stamps featuring four of the most popular poems of the Tang Dynasty was issued. This set of stamps focuses on the imperishable beauty and enduring quality of classical poetry. The poems illustrated in this set of stamps are： Meng Hao-Jan's "Spring Dawn", Chia T6ao's "On Looking for a Hermit and Not Finding Him", Liu Yu-Hsi's "Summer Dying" and Tsu Yung's "Looking at the Snow Drifts on South Mountain".
