In response to President Chiang's proclamation of the〝Science Year〞in 1956, the National Taiwan Science Hall was built with the purpose of disseminating scientific knowledge and stimulating public interest in scientific research in order to advance the study of science in Taiwan. The Hall, located in Taipei, is a nine-storied palace style building of reinforced concrete. It was designed by our famous architect, Professor Yu-Tsun Lu, and constructed under his supervision. With a view to promoting scientific studies, a set of the〝National Taiwan Science Hall〞 postage stamps was issued. Two colorful pictures of the building photographed from different angles were adopted as the central designs of the stamps.
