To meet business demands, this Directorate released a set of three air mail postage stamps on January 20, 1984 to mark the 37th anniversary of the Civil Aeronautics Administration (CAA).The designs of this set illustrate the newest type of jet airliner flying over C.K.S. (Chiang Kai Shek) International Airport, over the Chung Cheng Memorial Hall, as well as over the Dr. Sun Yat-sen Memorial Hall. The civil aviation industry in our country began in the early years of the Republic, but it was not until 1947 that a Civil Aeronautics Administration was formally founded. The CAA aims at safety, convenience and comfort in civil aviation. Its principal service items are: (1) controlling air traffic (2) providing air navigation aid (3) maintaining airport facilities and (4) supplying flight information and weather reports, etc.
