The characters〝限東北貼用〞(restricted for use in Northeastern Provinces) were overprinted in a vertical line in the middle, and the surcharged value in local currency was overprinted on the sides at the bottom. The overprinting was made by the Union Printing Press of the Chung Hwa Book Co.
