PHILATAIPEI 2016 World Stamp Championship Exhibition will be held on October 21-26, 2016, at the Taipei World Trade Center Exhibition Hall 1. “Post Day” is the theme for the first day of the exhibition. To demonstrate the legacy and innovations of postal services, Chunghwa Post has chosen a “green angel” (in homage to Chunghwa Post’s green-uniformed postal carriers) as well as an “e-carrier pigeon” carrying a pre-paid convenience box for a set of two stamps and a souvenir sheet. The designs follow: 1. NT$5 stamp: A bicycle-riding “green angel,” who is delivering mail full of joy and warmth to places far and wide, is being hoisted aloft by a hot-air balloon. 2. NT$25 stamp: The image shows a carrier pigeon wearing a ribbon in the shape of an “e,” which is spreading news about the computerization and e-commercialization of Chunghwa Post’s innovative services. The treasure convenience box that the pigeon is carrying on its back is chock full of caring concern, happiness and wealth. It represents the joy and convenience that multifaceted postal services bring to the people. 3. Souvenir Sheet: It contains two stamps with the aforementioned designs, except with NT$32 denominations, as well as spot embossing and a laser-printed holograph. An unconventional approach has been taken to extend the designs on the stamps into the area of the marginal inscriptions, with the bright and multihued stamps set off against a largely yellow background. The design of the sheet demonstrates the joyous atmosphere of the exhibition as well as the warmth of Chunghwa Post’s service.
