The first state summit between ROC President Chen Shui-bian and the heads of state of Taiwan’s African allies will be held on September 9, 2007 at the Grand Hotel, Taipei. The aim of the summit is to further strengthen the friendship between Taiwan and its African allies. To mark the occasion, one of the most important diplomatic events of the year, Taiwan Post is issuing a stamp in commemoration. The stamp will have a denomination of NT$12.00. The background of the stamp is an interrupted projection map of the world, symbolizing the global prospective of our nation’s diplomatic development.
