To welcome the 21st century, to promote international cultural exchange for the harbor city of Kaohsiung, to promote stamp collecting in southern Taiwan and to encourage teenagers to pick up a proper hobby, the Directorate of Southern Taiwan Postal Region and theKaohsiung city government are holding the "Tum-of-the- Century International Stamp Exhibition in Kaohsiung" at the Kaohsiung Exhibition Center for Business from December 25, 2000 to January 3, 2001. To mark this occasion, the Directorate will release a commemorative souvenir sheet which will be printed on the New Year's Greeting Postage Stamps (Issue of 2000) with red overprinted Chinese characters:「跨世紀高雄國際郵展」 (Turn-of-the-Century International Stamp Exhibition in Kaohsiung)and 「中華民國八十九年十二月二十五日至九十年一月三日」 (December 25, 2000 to January 3, 2001.) This souvenir sheet will be released on December 25, 2000, the opening day of the exhibition.
