National Palace Museum was established in Peking in 1925. October of the year 1995 marked the 70th anniversary of the museum. To celebrate the anniversary, this Directorate issued a set of four stamps, the design of which was based on four pieces of artwork provided by the museum. These four pieces are called 〝Strange Peaks and Myriad Trees〞, 〝Greenish-blue Procelain Vase〞, 〝Bronze Fu-K'uei Ting Vessel〞, and 〝Quatrain in Seven-character Verse: The Fragrance of Flowers〞.
