Since the adoption of a constitution on December 25, 1947, our government has led our people, at home and abroad, to unite and work hard to build up the nation by enforcing the constitution and suppressing communism. This concerted endeavour has resulted in Taiwan, a bastion of national recovery, a strong democracy, an affluent society, and an energetic economy. These notable achievements are widely acclaimed throughout the world and show the bright prospect of China's reunification under the Three Principles of the People.
