　　　　The Asian Federation for the Mentally Retarded (AFMR) advocates better education and welfare for persons in the Asian region with a mental handicap. AFMR held its 7th Conference in Taipei November 10-15, 1985, on the theme 〝Growing in Wisdom-the Mentally-Retarded Person in Asia〞 　　To draw public attention to education and care for mentally-handicapped persons, this Directorate released a set of two stamps on November 8, 1985, two days before the 7th Asian Conference on Mental Retardation.
