Armed Forces Day was designated to celebrate our victory over Japan in 1945.On July 7, 1937 the incident that ushered in the eight-year Sino-Japanese War occurred at the Marco Polo Bridge. Under the leadership of Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek, the Armed Forces fought bravely against the Japanese, eventually winning the war. To commemorate the sacrificial service and the rare exploits of our Armed Forces as well as to stimulate respect and love for them by the people, the government designated Septemper 3, Victory Day, as Armed Forces Day. This stamp takes the picture of 〝The Lukouchiao (Marco Polo Bridge) Battle〞 as its central design.
