The International Criminal Police Organization ( INTERPOL) was founded in 1923 under the sponsorship of Dr.Johann Schober, then the Austrian premier. Its headquarters was set up in Vienna, but removed to Paris in 1946. Two main objectives were defined for the establishment of the organization: (1) to advance mutual help and mutual understanding among criminal policemen of the countries; (2) to prevent and abolish crime. Since its formation, the organization has made distinctive contributions to facilitate cooperation among policemen of different countries. The Republic of China joined the organization in 1961. Being a faithful member, the Chinese government has tried and will try its best to support the organization. These three vertical stamps use a picture of a glove with a sword and a balance behind to symbolize that the International Criminal Police is fair to people, A huge Arabic figure "50" means 50th anniversary of the organization.
