The International Confederation of Free Trade Unions (ICFTU) is a strong leading organization, truly representative of the free workers of the world, unlike the so-called 〝World Federation of Trade Unions〞 engineered by the communists since World War II. The ICFTU organization held its first plenary session in London in December 1949 when it was formally inaugurated. The Chinese Federation of Labor(CFL) is one of the members strongly supporting this world-wide organization and participating in a plenary session held in Brussels, Belgium on December 7, 1959, the tenth anniversary of ICFTU. Marking the 10th anniversary of ICFTU and promoting the free workers campaign against communism, this Postal Administration issued a set of commemorative stamps. The emblem of the Confederation and its abbreviated name in English, 〝ICFTU〞, were adopted as the central design.
