In November 1894 Dr. Sun Yat-sen organized the Hsing Chung Hui to start the national revolution in China. On October 10, 1919 it was reorganized as the Kuomintang of China (Nationalist Party). The Kuomintang, therefore, regards the formation of Hsing Chung Hui as its real beginning, and observed its 50th anniversary in November 1944. As a mark of celebration of this occasion, a set of ommemorative stamps was issued.
Dr. Sun Yat-sen's portrait is the design of the stamps.
