Starting from August 1, 1944 the national Postal tariff was enforced in Sinkiang. For the purpose of franking the printed matter, the Sinkiang District Head Office made overprints with two brass chops, one bearing the characters〝改作壹角貳分〞(surcharged as 12¢) and the other bearing the characters 〝改作貳角肆分 〞(surcharged as 24¢) on the 10¢ and 25¢ native-paper stamps of the Dr. Sun issues of the Central Trust Print, by hand in black ink below the wording 〝限新省貼用〞 (restricted for use in Sinkiang) previously overprinted thereon in a horizontal line across the top.
