To better adjust to changes in postal rates and to bring greater convenience to the stamp-using public, Chunghwa Post first released non-denominated stamps on July 20, 1991. In that tradition, it will release a set of two non-denominated stamps, one to cover basic domestic postage for printed matter and the other to cover basic domestic postage for ordinary letters. The two stamps both feature a white carrier dove, which is symbolic of mail conveyance. In one, the bird holds an item of printed matter in its beak against a warm yellow background, and in the other the bird’s beak holds a letter against a bright blue background. Doves symbolize peace and integrity, and convey an image of friendly and trustworthy postal administration. The bright color scheme represents a government postal service that carries out its duties with enthusiasm, safely delivering every piece of mail to its recipient.
