It has been 17 years since this Directorate General of Posts issued the high denomination National Flower postage stamps on May 20, 1979, using the plum as the design. To enable the public to pay higher postage and to allow for stamp design variety, this Directorate will issue, on February 14, 1997, a set of four postage stamps, the design of which depicts the traditional Chinese octagonal window with dragons circling two carps in the center. These stamps, in denominations of NT$50, 60, 70, and 100, were designed by Lee Kuang-chi by referring to the window patterns on Longsan Temple.
