Owing to Currency fluctuations, the demand for high denominations of stamps was increased. A new series of stamps was consequently issued in a design showing the Postal Savings business counter in the middle. Above the door there is a circle earing the character 〝儲〞(savings), at the right-hand top corner is a larger circle showing money being dropped into a piggy bank, symbolic of money saving. The postal emblem is shown in another circle at top center. The whole set consists of four denominations valued from $40 to $200.Only three denominations of $40, $50, and $100 were printed on thin paper (〝Chao Tieh〞 paper), while four denominations were all printed on thick paper (woodfree printing paper).
