Immediately after the success of the National Revolution, the Waterlow & Sons Co., London was asked by wire to print in London the required overprint〝中華民國〞(Republic of China) vertically in Regular-Writing characters on a batch of Coiling Dragon stamps which had been kept in their custody. These stamps were later known as the 〝Dragon Stamp Bearing Regular-Writing Characters Overprint.〞
