Another lot of Empress Dowager’s Birthday Commemorative stamps was surcharged as definitive stamps in the same manner as described under Definitive 6 with the only difference being that the space between the Arabic figures and the lower line of Chinese characters was shortened to 1 1/2 ㎜. Thus such stamps are commonly known as〝Large Arabic Figures and Narrow Interval Stamps.〞Among the nine denominations, the stamps surcharged as 8 cents are all of the lst print, while those of other denominations are the products of two prints.
